GTO (Group Testing Officer) Test in SSB Interview is one of the most important parts of the SSB Interview Process. This test is conducted within a period of two days and consists of many outdoor and indoor tasks. Indoor Tasks in GTO consist of Group Discussion, Lecturette, and Group Planning Exercise (GPE). Outdoor Tasks in GTO consist of Individual Obstacle Tests, Progressive Group Tasks, Half Group Tasks, Full Group Tasks, Command Tasks, and Snake Race. The main purpose of conducting the GTO Test is to assess candidates’ ability to perform in a group, ability to influence a group, decision-making, optimum use of resources, and stamina.

2. Stamina and Physical Fitness- There are many outdoor tasks that require good physical fitness and stamina to complete them. Tasks like Individual Obstacles, Snake Race, and other outdoor tasks require good stamina. Even in Full Group tasks and Half Group Tasks, the weight of the load and helping material require physical fitness and stamina. That’s why it is very important for candidates to develop muscle power, especially in their hands, and develop stamina. To improve physical fitness and stamina, candidates can run daily and lift weights. Candidates should do push-ups also regularly to improve their physical fitness and stamina.
3. Coordination- Most of the tasks in GTO are group activities only. Without proper coordination, it is very difficult to make any plan successful.
