Indian Army SCC Remount Veterinary Corps 2025 Notification Out

Applications are invited from qualified male/female veterinary graduates for Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Remount Veterinary Corps of the Indian Army as per the terms and conditions described below:–

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

(a) Age Limit. 21–32 years as on the last date of submission of the application i.e. 26 May 2025.

Note -- BVSc/BVSc & AH graduates granted SSC in RVC will be eligible for Permanent Commission only if they are below 30 years on the date of SSC grant and qualify the departmental PC Test. MVSc/PhD holders may receive age relaxation as per rules, based on ante date seniority.

 (b) Minimum Educational Qualification.
A candidate must possess BVSc/BVSc & AH degree from any of the recognized Indian university or its equivalent foreign degree (i.e. the candidate must possess recognized veterinary qualification included in the first or second schedule of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984).

NATIONALITY

“A candidate must either be:
(i) a citizen of India, or
(ii) a subject of Nepal, or
(iii) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda and the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

A certificate of eligibility will, however, not be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary will attach such certificate along with the application.”

 

NOTE:
CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE PASSED THE QUALIFYING EXAMINATION WITH INTERNSHIP AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION. CANDIDATES WHO ARE NOT IN POSSESSION OF MARK SHEETS OF ALL YEARS/PART/SEMESTERS (INCLUDING FINAL/PART/SEMESTER) OF THE QUALIFYING EXAMINATION AND INTERNSHIP COMPLETION CERTIFICATE NEED NOT APPLY.

VACANCIES: 20 (17 for male candidates and 03 for female candidates)

METHOD OF SELECTION

(a) Initial screening.
Initial screening of applications will be done at Directorate General Remount Veterinary Services, Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) to check eligibility and correctness of documents before forwarding them to Dte Gen Recruiting of IHQ of MoD (Army). Common reasons for rejection of applications during screening are given at para 9 below.

(b) SSB Interview.
Candidates whose applications are found in order shall be detailed to appear for the Services Selection Board on a specified date. Detailed instructions along with date and place of SSB will be intimated directly by Dte Gen Recruiting, IHQ of MoD (Army).

(c) Merit list.
A merit list of the candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit will be prepared. It is to be noted that mere qualifying at the SSB interview does not confirm final selection. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate at SSBs only and as such higher educational qualifications, previous achievements have no role to play.

 

MEDICAL EXAMINATION

Candidates recommended by the Service Selection Board will undergo a medical examination by a board of male/female doctors, with a Lady Medical Officer for female candidates. If declared unfit, they will be informed and can request an Appeal Medical Board (AMB) within 42 days. Unfit candidates after AMB can challenge the decision, but the Review Medical Board (RMB) is discretionary. Pregnancy detected at any stage after SSB selection or during training will disqualify female candidates from receiving a commission.

TRAINING, TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR SERVICE

(a) Grant of Commission.
The candidate will be commissioned in the rank of Captain.

(b) Training.
Selected candidates will be detailed on post-commission training at RVC Centre & College, Meerut Cantt.

TENURE OF ENGAGEMENT

All officers granted commission would serve the Indian Army for a period of five years from the date of conferment of commission subject to fulfilment of other conditions. This period of five years may further be extended by two spells of five years and four years subject to their performance.

PAY, ALLOWANCES AND OTHER BENEFITS

Officers, on commissioning in the rank of Captain, are entitled to a pay matrix of level 10(B) Rs. 61,300/-, Military Service Pay of Rs. 15,500/-, Non-Practice Allowance (NPA) @20% of basic pay, in addition to Kit Maintenance Allowance (KMA) and Dearness Allowance (DA) as admissible, at rates applicable from time to time.

(a) Application on plain paper (21 cm × 36 cm) duly typed as per the format given in the advertisement.

(b) The envelope containing the application should be “Super scribed in Red Ink” indicating clearly “Application for Short Service Commission in RVC”.
