SSB is a five days interview process which is conducted to recommend candidates for the Armed Forces. SSB Interview is conducted after announcement of results of written exams of NDA, CDS and AFCAT. SSB is one of the toughest selection procedures in India in which the selection rate is very low. In a Batch of 100 Students, normally 4-5 candidates are recommended. For the final recommendation in SSB, Candidates must be medically fit. Candidates should be physically and mentally fit at the time of medical.
Five Days SSB Medical Test
Candidates undergo five days SSB Medical Test after getting successfully recommended in SSB Interview. SSB medical tests conducted on each day are given in the following table.

Why Medical Fitness is important for SSB Interview
Many Defence Aspirants get medical out even after getting recommendation in SSB. Getting medical out from the SSB medical test is like a big shock for Defence Aspirants. So, It becomes very important to ensure Candidates are medically fit for the SSB medical test. Armed Forces ensure only medically fit candidates are inducted in armed forces, because if candidates are not medically fit, they will not be able to work in harsh environments like Mountains or War-Zone.

Know the Medical Standards of Armed Forces
Candidates can read detailed Medical Standards and Procedures on the official website of the ministry of defence. Candidates can read medical standards from official notification of NDA or CDS. Normally Candidates are rejected on following grounds- weak constitution, imperfect development of any body part, swollen lymph node, hypo pigmentation,hernia anywhere on the body, arterio-venous malformation anywhere in/on the body, o impairment of vision including colour perception and field of vision,hearing impairment, deformities/disabilities in ears vestibule-cochlear system, o impediment of speech due to any aetiology, minimum 14 dental points.

Undergo Full Medical Test before going SSB
Candidates should undergo Full Medical Test in a good medical testing lab preferably in Army Hospital. Through a full body test, Candidates can know about any medical problem in advance and they will be able to get medical help to remove those medical problems. Candidates should check their eye vision before going for SSB.

Ensure Physical Fitness
Being physically fit is very important for passing medical test in SSB. Physical fitness helps candidates in being physical and mentally fit. To ensure Physical fitness, Armed Forces recommend candidates to run 5km daily and perform push ups, chin ups and squats. In addition to these exercises, Candidates should develop hobbies like swimming, cycling and other sports like Football, Badminton, Cricket etc to improve their physical fitness.

Candidates should ensure that they have proper height and weight recommended by the Armed Forces. Candidates are advised to follow a proper diet and do regular exercise to get proper weight.

Being Mentally Fit
Being Mentally Fit is as important as getting physically fit. Candidates should inculcate a positive lifestyle and stay motivated to keep themselves mentally fit. They should watch motivational videos, movies. Reading Motivational Books like you can win, who will cry when you die, reasons to stay alive are some motivational books that Candidates should read before going for SSB. Candidates should develop good habits also for being mentally and physically fit.
Candidates should try to keep physically along with preparation of upcoming SSB Interview. Being Physically fit should not be for getting recommendation in Armed Forces only, but for keeping One physically and mentally fit. Being Physically fit not helps in SSB but also in written exams also, because It is said that “A Healthy Mind resides in a Healthy Body”.
