Eligibility
- Nationality-
- A candidate must either be:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii) and (iii) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
A certificate of eligibility will, however, not be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.
- Age Limit- 20 to 27 years as on 01 Jan 2026. (Candidates born between 02 Jan 1999 and 01 Jan 2006, both dates inclusive).
- Educational Qualification for Applying-
Engineering graduates or final year students are eligible to apply.
Final year candidates must submit all mark sheets by 01 Jan 2026 and the degree certificate within 12 weeks of training commencement at IMA.
They will be inducted on an Additional Bond Basis, liable to repay training costs, stipend, and pay if they fail to produce the degree certificate on time.

Training
Selected candidates will be detailed for training at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, according to their position in the final order of merit.
Duration of training - About 12 Months. Candidates must remain unmarried throughout training at IMA, Dehradun. Marriage during or after application but before completion of training will lead to disqualification or discharge, with full recovery of training costs by the government.

Merit List- Qualifying the SSB Interview does not guarantee final selection.
A merit list is prepared stream-wise based on SSB marks. In case of a tie, older age is preferred, followed by higher marks in the qualifying degree.
Higher qualifications or past performance do not affect merit.
