Understanding the NDA Written Exam Merit List

NDA-2 2023 is scheduled to take place on 3rd September 2023. As you must be aware of the two-stage selection process of the NDA. In the first stage a written exam is conducted that comprises two papers- one is a mathematics paper and the other is GAT ( General Aptitude Test). In the second stage, five days of SSB Interview is conducted. After this process, a final merit list is prepared that decides your admission to National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla. But this selection process is not so simple. There are three types of cut-offs i.e. sectional cut-off, written cut-off, and final cut-off. These three cut-offs decide whether you will be joining the National Defence Academy or not. In this article, we are going to tell you everything about the NDA written exam merit list.

 

NDA Exam

NDA Exam is conducted by Union Public Service two times a year to select candidates for National Defence Academy and Naval Academy. Candidates who successfully qualify for the NDA Exam are trained in National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, and Naval Academy, Ezhimala. Candidates who are selected for National Defence Academy or Naval Academy are called Gentleman Cadets (GCs) and GCs go through holistic training that includes service subjects, field area training and weapon training, etc. After successful training of 3 years, GCs are sent to their parent academy which are IMA, INA, and AFA for further service-specific training.

Sectional Cut Off

Sectional Cut off in NDA Exam is 25%. It means candidates must score at least 75 marks in math paper and 225 Marks in the GAT (General Ability Test). If any candidate is scoring below these marks, his/her copies will not be checked by UPSC.

Written Exam Cut Off

Other than sectional Cut Off, there is a written exam cut-off also. Candidates must score above this cut off otherwise they will not receive call letters of interview. NDA written exam cut-offs of the last 10 NDA Exams are given below.

NDA Written Exam Cut Off is prepared by combining obtained marks in mathematics paper and GAT Paper.

Final Cut-Off/Final Merit List

Candidates must score clearly in the NDA final cut-off to get a place for their name/roll no. in the NDA final result. We have provided a detailed analysis of 10 previous NDA Exams below.

Tips to be a part of the final merit of the NDA Exam

You must be aware that NDA is among the most competitive exams in India and it requires great hard work to crack a highly competitive exam like NDA. Here, we are going to share some tips that will be very helpful in helping you to become part of the final merit list of the NDA Exam.

 

If you want to be sure of being part of the NDA Exam final merit list then try to score higher marks in the NDA written exam. NDA Final Merit List is prepared by combining 900 marks of the NDA written exam and 900 marks from SSB Interview. If you score good marks in the NDA written exam, you will not have some surety for being part of the NDA final merit list. For scoring higher marks in the NDA written exam, candidates should not lose too many marks in the negative marking.NDA Final Merit List includes marks from SSB Interview also. So if you perform well in all SSB tasks in the five days of the SSB Interview, you will have a higher chance of being part of the NDA Final Merit List.
