Aroma Park is being established in the Perfume Capital of India, Kannauj.

• Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh's Cologne city, will build the state's first Aroma Park.
• The park will be built by the Tamil company TAMO House. The establishment of Aroma Park in Kannauj is motivated by two factors. First, essential oils will be readily available.
• Second, the fragrance will be easily accessible here. Products manufactured here will also be exported to other countries.

PM MITRA Park is being established in the Dhar District of Madhya Pradesh.

• The park being set up at Bhainsola village in Dhar district on around 1,563 acres is one of the seven mega textile parks to be set up in India under the PM Mitra Park project.

Asia Petrochemical Industry Conference held in New Delhi.

• 41st Edition of Asia Petrochemical Conference held in New Delhi, In this conference, a total of 8 countries participated including India.

India’s first plane using sustainable fuel flew from Pune to Delhi.

• Air Asia’s Plane i5-767 became the first passenger flight to fly from Pune to New Delhi using indigenously developed sustainable fuel.

India’s Defence Production crosses 12 billion dollars.

• In recent years, India’s defence production has grown by 12%.
• The value of Defence Production in 2021-22 was 95,000 crore.
• India aims to achieve a turnover of $ 25 billion (1.75) lakh crore in defence production by 2024-25.

Telangana launches SAHAS Scheme.

• The SAHAS Scheme was launched by Telangana Government. This scheme aims at setting up a support system for women who are facing sexual harassment workplace.

India begins “Operation Karuna” to assist Myanmar.

• India begins "Operation Karuna" to assist Myanmar: India has taken an initiative to aid those affected by Cyclone Mocha in Myanmar by launching "Operation Karuna."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in Papua New Guinea.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Papua New Guinea to take part in the pacific island forum.
• Polynesia, Micronesia and Malyneisa, New Zealand, and Australia are part of the Pacific Island Forum.

The G-20 Tourism meeting is going to take place on the 22nd of May.

• The 'Third G20 Tourism Working Group Meeting', will be held from 22nd to 24th May 2023 in Srinagar, Jammu, and Kashmir.
• ‘3rd Tourism Working Group Meeting’ will deliberate on the five key priority areas namely Green Tourism, Digitalization, Skills, MSMEs, and Destination Management.

National Anti-Terrorism Day- 21st May.

• India observes the National Anti-Terrorism Day on May 21 every year. The day is observed to commemorate the death of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, who was assassinated on this day in 1991.

International Day for Biological Diversity 2023- 22 May.

• International Day for Biological Diversity to increase understanding and encourage the preservation of the Earth's diverse ecosystems.

• The theme for International Day for Biological Diversity 2023 is “From Agreement to Action: Build Back Biodiversity.”

Pramod Bhasin to be the new chairman of the Data Security Council of India.

• Data Security Council of India (DSCI), announced the appointment of Pramod Bhasin as the new chairman. Pramod is the founder of Genpact Ltd and is currently also the chairman of ICRIER.

Jyothi Yarraji won a gold medal in the women's 100 m hurdles at the Birsa Munda Stadium in Ranchi.

• Jyothi Yarraji won a gold medal in the women's 100 m hurdles at the Birsa Munda Stadium in Ranchi during the Federation Cup athletics event.
• She also beat the Athletics Federation of India's (AFI) Asian Championships qualifying time of 13.63 seconds, according to Olympics.com.

The South Asian Youth Table Tennis Championship 2023 concluded in Itanagar.

• The South Asian Youth Table Tennis Championship 2023 concluded in Itanagar after a three-day international event.
• More than 100 athletes and officials from six countries, namely Bhutan, Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Nepal, participated in the championship.
•  In the Under-19 Boys singles, Ankur Bhattacharjee emerged victorious by defeating Payas Jain with a score of 4-2, securing the gold medal. Payas Jain received the silver medal.
