Apple CEO Tim Cook opens Apple’s first India store in Mumbai.

  • Apple opened its first Indian retail store in Mumbai on Tuesday. The iPhone maker's chief executive Tim Cook has arrived in the country to inaugurate the exclusive store at Bandra Kurla Complex. The Apple store is launched at a time when Apple is commemorating 25 years in India.

ISRO launched the TeLEOS-2 satellite of Singapore from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.

  • The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will launch Singapore's TeLEOS-2 satellite on April 22, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. The launch will be carried out by the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV).

The Central Government is going to establish PM-MITRA Park in Lucknow and Hardoi Districts of Uttar Pradesh.

  • PM MITRA Parks will be launched in the Lucknow and Hardoi districts of Uttar Pradesh by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • Textiles Park will be set up in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh under the PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) scheme.

The Indian Government has inaugurated the India Maize Summit in New Delhi.

  • Under this summit, the Government has estimated an increase in maize output up to 10 metric tonnes.

Himachal Pradesh has launched mission Sanjeevni to empower Dairy Farmers.

  • The state government has initiated a project named Sanjeevani to uplift the livelihood of small dairy farmers and livestock owners. The project aims to enhance the lives of farmers by providing them with convenient and high-quality livestock care services at their doorstep, utilizing telemedicine and technology.

The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia is visiting India to boost trade and security ties.

  • Russian deputy prime minister Denis Manturov will be visiting India for four days beginning next weekend with an aim to boost trade and security ties.

The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) released the ‘Status of Women in Agrifood Systems’ Report.

  • According to the report, Women make up a significant proportion of the agricultural workforce, accounting for around 40% of the global agricultural labor force.
  • Closing the gender gap in agri-food systems could increase agricultural productivity by up to 4% in developing countries, which could, in turn, boost global GDP (Gross Domestic Product) by up to 2%.

Minister of Rural Development, Shri Giri Raj Singh has launched the ‘Sangathan Se Samriddhi Scheme’.

  • This scheme has been launched to bring marginalized women and rural households under self-help groups.
