Turkey launches its first Aircraft Carrier and World's first UAV Carrier.

  • The name of UCAV is ‘TCG-Anadolu’.
  • This is the first warship in the world that can house UCAVs.

Qatar and Bahrain announce to resume their diplomatic ties after over two years.

  • Bahrain has resolved the dispute with Qatar and called for unity and the strengthening of relations among GCC countries. The declaration also affirmed the GCC member states’ commitment to achieving coordination and integration in all fields to eventually form a union of states.

Philippines and US launch largest joint military exercises to counter China.

  • The Philippines and the United States have launched their largest-ever joint military exercises, called Balikatan.

India’s foreign exchange reserves jumped to $584.76 billion.

  • India's forex reserves jumped by USD 6.3 billion to USD 584. 755 billion.
  • Forex Reserves are expressed in dollar terms, the foreign currency assets include the effect of appreciation or depreciation of non-US units like the euro, pound, and yen held in the foreign exchange reserves.

UNCTAD lowers India’s GDP Growth Rate for Financial 2023 from 6.6% to 6%.

  • As per the latest Trade and Development Report Update released by the United Nations Trade and Development Conference (UNCTAD), India's economic growth is expected to slow down from 6.6% in 2022 to 6% in 2023.

India’s exports jumped by 6% to 447 billion $ in the financial year 2023.

  • India's merchandise trade deficit in March 2023 stood at $19.73 billion, which was higher than $17.43 billion.
  • India's exports rose 6 percent to $447 billion in 2022-23 as against $422 billion in 2021-22 on account of healthy growth in the outbound shipments of sectors such as petroleum, pharma, and chemicals and marine products.

All India Football Federation has announced a minimum wage rate for female football players.

  • This minimum wage rate will be implemented for the Indian women league.
  • This wage rate will be 3.2 Lakh per season.
