• The RAPIDX services on the first Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor will bring down the travel time between Delhi to Meerut significantly. The NCRTC is aiming to commission the entire Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor for the public by 2025.

Solar Energy Corporation of India has received the status of ‘Miniratna’.

• Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has been accorded the status of Miniratna Category-I Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE).
• SECI is the primary implementing agency of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Govt. of India for Renewable Energy schemes/ projects towards the fulfilment of India's international commitments. To date, SECI has awarded Renewable Energy (RE) project capacities of over 56 GW.

• A Chinese woman has become the first person to die from a type of bird flu that is rare in humans according to the World Health Organisation (WHO).
•  The strain does not appear to spread between people.

Tibet has been ranked as the least free country by Freedom House, a global watchdog of Human Rights.

• In the report, Freedom House ranked Tibet as the "World's least-free country" along with South Sudan and Syria.

Industrialist Keshub Mahindra passed away at the age of 99 years.

Keshub Mahindra was an Indian businessman and the chairman emeritus of the Mahindra Group. He was the son of Kailash Chandra Mahindra, the co-founder of the Mahindra Group.

Shakib Al Hasan has been declared ICC Player of the Month.
