Indian Navy is planning to build a naval base in Agratti, Lakshwadeep.

• Indian Navy has decided to expand its naval fortification by establishing naval bases in Agatti and Minicoy Islands along with air bases to secure the vital sea lanes of communication.

Ministry of Defence has signed a deal of Rupees 1,752 to supply Remote Control Guns.

• Ministry of Defence has signed a deal with advanced weapon equipment in India, Kanpur to supply 463 remote-control guns.

ISRO will launch INSAT 3-DS on 17 February.

• Indian Space Research Organisation will launch the INSAT 3-DS satellite on 17 February from Sriharikota.
•  The satellite will help in tracking weather-related events with the use of high-resolution images.

• Shehbaz Sharif is set to begin a second term as Pakistan's Prime Minister.

India conducts  Talks for Full Membership with IEA.

• India is engaged in discussions with ministers from member countries of the International Energy Agency (IEA) regarding its application to attain full membership.
• International Energy Agency is headquartered in Paris and comprises 31 nations.
