• Hyderabad was given the top position by the study published under the Quality of Living Index.
• Mercer, a renowned global consultant for businesses, publishes the Quality of Living Index.
• In India, Pune City was awarded second place in the Index for its quality of life.
• Globally, Vienna was first placed in the Index followed by Zurich and Vancouver.

The Ministry of Defence is going to buy 70,000 Sig Sauer Rifles.

• The Ministry of defence (MoD) has cleared the purchase of 70,000 Sig Sauer Rifles for Rs 800 Crore.
• Sig Sauer is a semi-automatic rifle with a calibre of 7.62х51 mm.

Rajya Sabha passed a Bill to set up Tribal University in Telangana.

• Rajya Sabha Sabha passed the Central Universities (Amendment) Bill to facilitate the setting up of a Tribal University in Telangana.
• This tribal university will be named 'Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University'.

• Donald Tusk became the prime minister of Poland after winning a vote of confidence in the Polish Parliament with the support of 248 members.

India votes in favour of immediate ceasefire amid Israel-Hamas fighting.

• India supported a resolution in the United Nations General Assembly demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
• Israel had launched a massive operation against Hamas after a deadly terrorist attack on Israel.
• This operation against Hamas resulted in the loss of lives on both sides.
• India earlier voted against a resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, but India has voted in its favour.

• A Tropical cyclone has made an impact on Australia in the Queensland Area.
• This cyclone is reported to be of category one.
• In the Australian region, Cyclones are known as Willi-Wllies.

China-Egypt to jointly launch Satellite MisrSat2.

• Space Agencies of both China and Egypt are going to collaborate to launch the MisrSat2 Satellite,
• This satellite was jointly developed by the Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA) and the China National Space Administration.
