UES (University Entry Scheme) SSB ENTRY
UES is the buzzword for Indian Navy aspirants these days. Many students indulge in calculus and differentiation in the name of ‘engineering’ as they hope to join Indian Navy through their engineer degree.

UES ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Unmarried candidates having Indian citizenship under SSC rules are eligible to apply for UES. Moreover, candidates must ensure their nationality as per the UES notification on its official website.
The candidates must range between 18 to 24 years of age.
The eligibility criterion for UES goes something like:
Final year graduates of B.E/ B.Tech from a recognized university with 60% marks upto the 5th semester with the following specialty:
For Executive branch- IT/ computer science/ computer engineering
For Engineering branch- Mechanical/ marine/ instrumentation/ production/ aeronautical/ industrial engineering & management/ control engineering/ automobile/ airspace/ metallurgy/instrumentation & control/ mechatronics.
For Electrical branch- Electrical/ electronics/ telecommunication/ electronics &communication/ power engineering/ control system engineering/ power electronics/ avionics/ electronics & instrumentation/ instrumentation & control/ instrumentation.
There is inclusion of medical standards also in Indian Navy so ensure the same for yourself:
Electrical/ Engineering branch-
Eye sight- 6/24
Executive branch-
Eye sight- 6/60
Height standard:
Gorkha, assamese, garhwali, kumaoni, Uttarakhand , Nepal, Bhutan, Sikkim & North Eastern region- 152 cm
Tribals from Ladakh, Andaman & Nicobar island, Lakshwadeep- 155 cm
UES ENTRY PROCESS
Good news… you don’t have to appear for any exam or lengthy academic written test so relax on that note!
Well the selection process commences with a screening test wherein the SSB panel interviews goes to the University and shortlist students under Naval Campus Selection process. On a 4 point scale the screening is conducted:
- Most suitable
- Suitable
- Average
- Unsuitable
The shortlisted candidates will have to go for the 5 day SSB interview.
Based on the interview the final list of selected candidates is declared. Thus, merit last is the final ladder.
UES ENTRY APPLICATION
Interested and eligible candidates have to open up www.joinindiannavy.gov.in and register themselves. The notifications are usually released in the month of June.
Fill in your details from matriculation till present and take a print out of the form.
