- Nationality: Only Indian citizens both male and female are eligible to apply for the Territorial Army.
- Age Limits: The age of the applicants should be between 18 to 42 years as on the last day of filing the online application.

Syllabus and Exam Pattern of Territorial Army Recruitment 2021
There are majorly four subjects included in the Territorial Army written exam. Reasoning and Elementary Mathematics come under paper 1, whereas, General Knowledge and English form the second paper. Following is the detailed information regarding the syllabus & exam pattern.
- Reasoning: It consists of topics like forming a logical conclusion based on the simple pattern of numbers, statements, figures, letters, and sequence making as may be expected of a rational thinking person without any special study of the subject.
- Elementary Mathematics: It consists of topics like Arithmetic, Unitary Method, Elementary Number Theory, Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Mensuration, and Statistics.
- General Knowledge: It consists of topics like current events and such matters of everyday observation and experience in scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject. The paper will also include questions on the history of India and the geography of nature which candidates should be able to answer without special study.
- English: It consists of topics like testing the candidates’ understanding of English and workman-like use of words. Questions in English are from synonyms, antonyms, reading comprehension, Para jumbles, error spotting, jumbled sentences, sentence correction, and fill-in blanks.

Exam Pattern Specifications:
- The whole exam consists of two papers.
- Each paper contains two subjects.
- Each paper lasts for two hours.
- The exam is conducted in offline (OMR) mode.
- There are only objective-type questions asked in the exam.
- For each correct answer, one mark is awarded to the candidate.
- There is also a penalty of negative marking for incorrect answers.
Territorial Army Selection Procedure 2021
The selection procedure of the Territorial Army consists of the following stages.
1. Screening by a Preliminary Interview Board (PIB) by the respective Territorial Army Group Headquarters.
- Under this stage, the applicants are shortlisted for the written exam and they are required to score the minimum qualifying marks to clear the written exam.
- Once the candidates qualify for the written exam, they are called for an interview by the Preliminary Interview Board (PIB) which is constituted by the respective headquarters of the Territorial Army.
2. Successful candidates will further undergo tests at a Service Selection Board (SSB) and Medical Board for Final Selection.
- Under this stage, the qualified candidates are called for another interview which is conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB).
- After qualifying for the SSB Interview, the candidates will undergo a medical examination for final recommendation as an officer in the Territorial Army.
