Indian Coast Guard has released Assistant Commandant Notification 2021 for 50 vacancies today, on June 26. Assistant commandant application to begin from July 4, eligible and willing candidates can apply till July 14. E-admit cards to eligible candidates for appearing Preliminary Selection Board (PSB) will be issued from July 20 onwards.

The online application for ICG Assistant Commandant to begin from June 4, candidates need to follow the below steps to apply for the posts:
- Visit the official website of the exam, joinindiancoastguard.gov.in
- Click on the ‘Opportunities’ button given at the upper right corner of the page
- Select the advertisement for Recruitment of Assistant Commandant- 02/2022 Batch
- Click on the 'I Agree' button and the 'Online Application' form will appear on the screen
- Fill the application form, all star (*) marked entries must be filled.
- Upload their scanned photograph and signature in the prescribed formatt
- After successful registration, a unique system generated Application/Registration number will be sent to the candidates to their registered email Id. This Application/Registration number will be used for future communications with the exam conducting body.

Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Eligibility

- Only the candidates who have cleared final year of their degree are eligible to apply
- Candidates should not have any past record of detention or prosecution
- Candidates from reserved category will enjoy age relaxation as per government rules
- Candidates who have not completed their Law Degree yet, need not apply. The application will not be accepted in such cases.
- SC/ST candidates, NCC ’C’ (A grade) holders, Sports person of National level (Inter State & above) and wards of Coast Guard uniform personnel deceased while in service will get maximum 5% relaxation in aggregate in the marks obtained in degree. This relaxation rule is not applicable for 12th class marks
Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Selection Process
The selection process is divided into two stages, stage I and II.
Stage I:
- Short Listing of Applications: Shortlisting of candidates for preliminary exam or written test will be done based on the marks received in bachelor’s degree. For some branches, qualifying marks can be more than 60% if more applicants with higher percentage apply.
- Preliminary exam or written test: Preliminary test will be conducted in English to examine Mental Ability/ Cognitive Aptitude of the candidates along with Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP & DT). Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant preliminary test will objective in nature.
- Candidates have to produce the following documents in original prior to the commencement of the written examination at the exam venue:

Note: Candidates are expected to converse in English during Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP & DT), however, they can speak in Hindi if they wish so.
Stage II
- Final selection: After qualifying the preliminary exam, candidates will be called for final selection. This test will include Psychological Test, Group Task and Interview (Personality test).
- Candidates will be intimated on the date and venue of final selection on the official website of Indian Coast Guard
- The final selection board will recommend the names of candidates for medical examination which will be held at the nearest Military Hospital as per the medical standard prescribed in current regulations applicable to Assistant Commandant recruitment. Check Assistant Commandant exam pattern for details on medical standards and other parameters.
Note: Alongside the above-mentioned details, complete medical examination of the candidates will be carried out during the medical standard test.
