CDS 2 2020 Notification- The Important details

 

The Notification for the examination has been released on 05 Aug 20 by UPSC. Generally it is released, but due to Covid-19 Pandemic the examination got postponed.

As per the past observations, the advertisements are out in the months of October and June and the examinations are conducted in the months of February and November respectively.

The Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission for commissioning of officers in the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. Successful candidates are admitted into the respective Defence Academies after the SSB interviews conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB).

 

ELIGIBITITY AGE CRITERIA:

Air Force Academy	19–24 years
Naval Academy	19–24 years
Officers’ Training Academy	19–25 years
Indian Military Academy	19–24years

 

EDUCATIONAL ELIGIBILTY CRITERIA:

I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy	Degree from a recognized University or equivalent
Indian Naval Academy	Degree in Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent
Air Force Academy	Degree of a recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering

CDS Procedure: Every candidate has to undergo through all the specified following stages.

• Written Test
• SSB Interview
• Medical Examination
• Merit List

The word of caution for all CDS Aspirants to devote considerable time to SSB preparation as well. This needs time as  your entire mind and personality needs change to fit in the assessment guidelines of SSB.

Procedure to apply:

• Click official website — upsc.gov.in or
• upsconline.nic.in.
• Click on the UPSC CDSE 2 2020 link.
• In Part – I of the registration, submit your basic information.
• In Part – II, fill the payment details and choice of exam center, upload your photo and sign as per mentioned instructions.
• Save and submit it and  keep a print for reference.

 

Application fee cost: Rs 200/- (SC, ST and women candidates are exempted from application fee.)

Examination Centers: UPSC CDS 2 2020 exam will be held in 41 CDS Exam Centers across India.
