Indian Military Academy Passing Out Parade was held On 11 June 2022. The Dehradun-based Indian Military Academy’s spring term Passing Out Parade had 288 Gentleman Cadets (GCs), alongside 89 foreign cadets, passing out from the Academy to become commissioned officers in the Indian Armed Forces. And once again the state of Uttarakhand contributed to the maximum amount of cadets, while Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of as many as 50 cadets in the POP. The biggest state in terms of population, Uttar Pradesh leads the table of state wise representation of GCs with 50 officers. 33 young men from the small predominantly mountainous state of Uttarahand would become officers in the Indian Army after the Passing out Parade (POP) of spring term 2022 on Saturday. While Bihar steals the third spot with 28 GCs.Another small state Haryana with 25 officers is on the fourth place in the list of young officers. Maharashtra with 22, Punjab 21 and Rajasthan with 20 are other big contributors in the list.Incidentally, Madhya Pradesh, the biggest state of India in terms of area, contributed eight GCs in the passing out contingent of officers. Another big state Andhra Pradesh (AP) would be sending a couple of officers in the passing out contingent.The states of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand which were created along with Uttarakhand in the year 2000 would be represented by one GC each in the PoP. A total of 288 Gentlemen Cadets (GCs) belonging to 150 Regular Course and 133 Technical Graduate Course (TGC) shall become proud officers of Indian army on June 11 when they step on the AntimPag (last step) of the Academy after the Passing out Parade (POP).
These Gentleman Cadets include 89 foreign trainees from eight countries. The ceremonies associated with the Passing Out Parade commenced on June 10, with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony, where homage was paid to the brave alumni of this prestigious training academy. Nearly 898 alumni have made the supreme sacrifice to uphold the honour of the nation and protect its sovereignty, in keeping with the highest traditions of the Indian Army.
The top ten states of India gave officers in IMA POP June 2022.Thus it would be wise to say that India as a whole has the proud number of able gentlemen graduating in the IMA POP June 2022. And we can say that with the current strength of trainees, almost every fourth GC in the academy is from a different state of the country reflecting the unity in our diversity standing of the Academy and its reputed training regime. The academy has been pursuing a visionary transformation of its curriculum, training methodology and infrastructure towards preparing the young military leaders for the complexities of the future battlefield.
