Captain Shiva Chauhan has become a great example of this quote. Captain Shiva Chauhan has become the first female officer to be posted on Kumar Post in Siachen Glacier. Shiva Chauhan is an officer from the Indian Army’s elite regiment, the Corps of Engineers. Shiva Chauhan was trained at Siachen Battle School and will do various sophisticated engineering-related tasks in Siachen Glacier.
Siachen Glacier
Siachen Glacier is the world’s highest battlefield and is situated at a height of around 20,000 feet in the Karakoram range is known as the highest militarised zone in the world where the soldiers have to battle frostbite and high winds. The temperature at Siachen Glacier gets as low as -70 degrees. Siachen Glacier was captured by the Indian Army under Operation Meghdoot.

Kumar Post is the headquarter of the northern glacier battalion of the Indian Army. Kumar Post is named after Colonel Narendra Kumar, also known as ‘Bull. He was an iconic mountaineer and the man who helped secure the Siachen Glacier for India
