The much hailed Combined Defence Service (CDS) is a renowned way to enter Indian Armed Forces be it in Indian Navy, Indian Army or Indian Air Force. It is held twice a year and is taken up by thousand of candidates. Here is some essential insight into the 2020 CDS notification:

CDS-I 2020 EXAM  DATES:

• Application start date: 30 Oct, 2019
• Application last date: 19 Nov, 2019
• Exam date: 2 Feb, 2020
• Admit card: can be downloaded 3 weeks prior to exam

CDS-I 2020 EXAM  ELIGIBILITY:

• Officer’s training academy (OTA) for both men and women- Graduation
• Indian military academy (IMA)- graduation
• Indian naval academy (INA)- B.E or B.Tech with Physics and maths at 10+2 level
• Air force Academy- B.E or B.Tech with Physics and maths at 10+2 level

 

CDS-I 2020 EXAM AGE LIMIT:

1. Indian military academy:  19-24 years
2. Indian naval academy: 19-24 years
3. OTA (men and women): 19-25 years
4. Air Force Academy: 20 -24 years

 

CDS-I 2020 EXAM  PROCEDURE

The selection process of CDS involves: written exam+ SSB interview+ medical assessment. The final selection rests upon the merit list.

 

CDS-I 2020 EXAM SYLLABUS:

For IMA, INA, and Air Force:

• English- 2 hours- 100 marks
• General knowledge- 2 hours- 100 marks
• Elementary mathematics- 2 hours- 100 marks

For OTA:

1. English- 2 hours- 100 marks

CDS-I 2020 EXAM APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

• Log in to the official website of UPSC, that is, www.upsc.gov.in or www.upsconline.nic.in

• Register- make your payment- download a print out of the form
• Application fee is Rs.200 and there are 41 centers in total.
