AFCAT 1 2023 Exam
Indian Air Force conducts the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) exam twice a year to recruit the desirable candidates for Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branch & Permanent Commission (PC) and Short Service Commission (SSC) in for Ground Duty branches (Technical & Non-Technical). Candidates are judged on their performance in online Computer Based Test (CBT) and interview round conducted by Air Force Selection Board (AFSB). Candidates who opt for Ground Duty Staff are required to take AFCAT CBT and Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT).
Notification for AFCAT 1 2023 Exam-
The notification for the AFCAT 1 (Air Force Common Admission Test) Exam 2023 will be released by the Indian Air Force (IAF) in November/December 2022. Everything regarding the number of vacancies, starting & ending date of application, eligibility and exam pattern will be stated in detail in the notification.

AFACT 2023 Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate must hold citizenship of India as per the Indian Citizenship Act, 1995.
- Candidates who have completed their 12th-grade exam according to the 10+2 format are eligible to apply.
AFCAT 2023 Exam Educational Qualification
- Candidates applying for Flying Branch must have cleared the Intermediate exam from PCM stream with 60% marks.
- Candidates must hold a (Three year Course) Graduation Degree from a recognized University in India with 60% marks or BE/B Tech (Four Year Course) with 60% marks from a recognized University in India.
- All the Final Year Students without having any Backlogs at the time of AFSB.

- Three marks will be awarded for every correct answer given.
- One mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
- No mark will be awarded for the unattempted questions.
AFCAT 1 Exam 2023 Application fee
- Candidates applying for the AFCAT 1 Exam 2023 are required to pay a sum of Rs. 250/-, which is non-refundable in online mode.
- Candidates applying through NCC special entry and Meteorology Entry are exempted from paying the Fees.
AFCAT 1 Exam 2023 Syllabus
(a) English: Detect Error in Sentence, Cloze Test or Fill in the Gaps in a paragraph, Comprehension, Sentence Completion/ Filling in of correct word, Synonym/ Antonym, Analogy, Sentence Rearranging, Idioms and Phrases, One Word Substitution / Substitution in a Sentence.
(b) Numerical Ability: Time and Work, Decimal Fraction, Simple and Compound Interest, Ratio & Proportion, Mixture & Allegation Rules, Clocks Area and Perimeter, Average/ Percentage, Profit & Loss, Probability, Number System & Number Series Time & Distance and Races (Trains/ Boats & Streams).
(c) General Awareness: National & International Organizations, Sports, Art & Culture, History, Geography, Indian Polity, Current Affairs (National & International), Economy, Personalities, Environment & Ecology, Defense, Basic Science Based Knowledge, Science & Technology.
(d) Reasoning Ability: Ratio and Proportion, Time and Distance, Spatial Ability, Simple Interest, Verbal Ability.
