AFCAT Physical Eligibility for Female
Aspirants preparing for any Defence Exam must take care of their Physical Health and Skills, as he or she is going to be a soldier after all so need to be physically fit and mentally strong. The same came in the case of AFCAT Examination. After clearing online written test or AFCAT 1 test, candidates will called for the second stage called AFSB (Air Force Selection Board) test or AFCAT 2.
Here we are going to discuss the physical eligibility criteria and other requirements especially for Females candidates, who are preparing for AFCAT examination and wants to serve Indian Air Force as an officer for the Nation.
The requirement for physically eligibility in AFCAT is different for both Male and Female candidates, so it is advised to check every eligibility criteria before applying for the examination. A candidate must need to meet the physical standards set by Indian Air Force. Here we mentioned the AFCAT Physical Eligibility for Female candidates :
Height and Weight

These are the basic requirements of Height accordance to female candidate’s weight and Age. But as AFCAT has 2 branches where candidates have to choose from :
- Flying Branch
- Ground Duty Branch ( Technical & Non-Technical)

Height Standards for Flying Branch
Since there are different standards are set for male and female candidates for physically eligibility, but for Flying Branch there is no concession is given in Height Standards either for male or female candidates. Below we listed minimum and maximum Height standards for Flying Branch of IAF -

Ground Duty Branch consist Technical and Non-Technical posts to be filled by different candidates. Here is the minimum and maximum Height required for AFCAT Physical Eligibility –

Here, IAF offered a concession for some specified candidates in this Branch and the minimum accepted Height for these candidates would be 2 cm less than the specified standards. Those candidates possessing following specific categories –
- Gorkhas
- Candidates belonging to Hills of North-eastern Region, Garhwal Region, and Kumaon Region.
AFCAT Physical Test Eligibility
Female Candidates going to attempt the physical test constructed by AFSB, should make clear some eligibility requirements before going to SSB/AFSB Centre :
- Their is no any presence of permanent Tattoo on Body except those based on specific tribes or communities.
- Usage of any kind of Drug or any Health Endurance substance is Highly prohibited.
- Ears should be Wax free.
- Nails should be correctly shaped.
- For running test, candidate must run 01 miles(1.6 km), do 10 push-ups and 3 Chin-ups in 10 minutes.
There is further requirement of a perfect vision to be a part of Indian Air force. IAF make sure that a candidate should possess needed eyesight or vision abilities to become an officer in air force. For different branch, the vision measures are different too. Here we listed all requirements –
