SSB Dates of CDS-1 2023 are about to be announced by Army, Navy, and Airforce. There is not much time left to waste so it will be right to start the preparation for the CDS-1 2023 upcoming SSB. It must be kept in mind that SSB is not an ordinary academic interview, it requires thorough preparation, and all the aspects of your personality are tested. Merely reading and gaining knowledge is not going to help in the SSB interview. Screening is the first stage of the SSB Interview and it is like a gateway to the next process. If you do not qualify for the screening process, then you will not be able to stay in SSB for the next five days, you will be returned on the same day. PP&DT is one of the two tests which are conducted in the screening stage. PP&DT is one of the most feared tests in the SSB Interview by candidates. To help candidates who are going to appear in the CDS-1 2023 SSB Interview, we are going to provide all details related to PP&DT and provide PP&DT images for practice also.
The PP&DT (Picture Perception and Discussion Test) is one of the psychological tests conducted during the five-day SSB Interview Process.
The purpose of the PP&DT is to assess a candidate's ability to analyze a given picture and form a story around it. PP&DT Test aims to analyze candidates’ analytical thinking, decision-making ability, optimum use of resources, and thought process. In the picture perception test, candidates are given 30 seconds to observe the story and 1 minute to highlight the number of characters, their mood, age, and sex. Candidates are given 4 minutes to write down the title of the story and the PP&DT Story. After writing the stories, candidates are divided into groups of 14-16 candidates for discussion and narration. During narration and discussion, candidates sit in a semi-circle manner and narrate their stories one by one. After the narration, a group discussion takes place. The purpose of group discussion is to arrive at a final story not just to discuss the story.

Title of the Story- “Organising a Birthparty for Friend” Story- Rahul is a student of the 10th class in Navoday School. The birthday of his friend Anuj who lives in the hostel was coming up after a few days. Anuj was feeling sad because he would not be able to his family on his birthday because of his studies. Rahul decided that he will celebrate his friend’s birthday and make him happy. Rahul told about the birthday party to his other friends also. They collected money after taking contributions from each friend and they together planned the party. They brought all the items for celebrating his birthday. They together decided that they will celebrate the birthday of Anuj at his favorite place. They gathered at their favorite place of Anuj and called him to come to that place. They surprised Anuj and celebrated his birthday with great joy. |
2nd Sample PP&DT Image for CDS-1 2023 SSB Interview
Title of the Story- “Undercover Officer Catches Criminal” Story- Suhani is a sub-inspector working in UP STF. One day, she received a special case from his officer. The case was about a dreaded criminal who had escaped some years ago and was operating in another state concealing his identity. The criminal used to work as a driver to escape the police. Suhani decided to catch the thief and bring him back to Uttar Pradesh. Suhani decided that she will work undercover and catch the criminal. One day she located the criminal when he was driving a bus. She asked him for a lift and boarded the bus. She had already alerted his team and when her team was nearby she arrested the criminal. When the criminal tried to run, she threatened him by using her revolver and asked him to surrender. The criminal eventually surrendered and he was arrested.
