This document provides key details for candidates applying for Agniveervayu Non-Combatant Intake 02/2025 under the Agnipath scheme. It outlines eligibility, job profile, application procedure, service terms, and exam sequence. Candidates must review the brochure before applying. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1.            AGE.

(a)          Date of Birth Block. Candidates born between 03 Jul 2004 and 03 Jan 2008

(Both days inclusive) are eligible to apply.

(b)          In case, a candidate clears all the stages of the selection procedure, then the

Upper age limit as on date of enrolment should be 21 years.

 

MARITAL STATUS--Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for Agniveervayu Non-Combatant and must remain unmarried during the four-year engagement period. Marriage during this time will lead to discharge. Given the training, skill development, and operational requirements, prolonged absence would affect IAF efficiency. Only unmarried candidates will be considered for selection in the regular NCs (E) cadre. A voluntary undertaking accepting these conditions must be signed at enrolment.  

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION--Passed Matriculation/ Equivalent examination from “Education Boards recognized by Central, State and UT as on date of registration”.

MANDATORY MEDICAL STANDARDS--General Medical Standards for Agniveervayu Non-Combatants are as follows: -

(a)          Height: Minimum acceptable height is 152 cms.

(b)          Chest: Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm

(c)           Weight: Proportionate to height and age.

(d)          Vision requirements as applicable as per Indian Air Force standards.

(e)          Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately.

(f)           Dental: Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points.

(g)          General Health: Candidate should be of normal anatomy without loss or deformity of any appendages. He should be free from any active or latent, acute or chronic, medical or surgical disability or infection and skin ailments. Candidate shall be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.

 

GENERAL DISQUALIFICATIONS

(a) Narcotic Drugs & Substance Abuse: The IAF follows a zero-tolerance policy on narcotics and psychotropic substances under the NDPS Act 1985. Possession, storage, distribution, or consumption leads to rejection or dismissal from service.

(b) Body Tattoos: Permanent tattoos are not permitted, except on the inner forearms, back of the hand, or as per tribal customs. The Selection Centre has final authority on acceptance. Candidates with tattoos must submit two photographs (close-up & distant) with size and type details during Phase 2 of the Selection Test.

Only Sikh Candidates, Candidates whose religion prohibits hair cutting or shaving, such as Sikhs, may retain hair, beard, and moustache as per specifications. Sikh candidates must submit photographs with beard and moustache accordingly.

JOB PROFILE

Agniveervayu Non-Combatant Duties: Selected candidates will perform assigned tasks under Hospitality or Housekeeping streams, as per organizational needs.

•             Hospitality Stream: Includes cooking, kitchen management, food storage, sanitation, table setup, serving food/water, and handling kitchen equipment.

•             Housekeeping Stream: Covers cleaning, gardening, washing, carrying water, office maintenance, hair cutting, ironing, stitching, leatherwork, shoe polishing, and garment alterations.

 

PROCEDURE TO APPLY

Candidates must download the application form from the “Agniveervayu Non-Combatants” tab at agnipathvayu.cdac.in and submit the duly filled form via normal post/drop box to any listed locations before the due date in the employment news notification. Multiple or incomplete applications and those not in the prescribed format will be rejected. Late submissions will not be accepted.

5.            Candidates are required to attach following documents with the application. Applications received without documents are liable to be rejected: -

(a)          Class 10th/ Matriculation Mark Sheet and Passing Certificate.

(b)          Passport size recent colour photograph (Not older than six months as on the last date of receipt of application) (front portrait in light background without head gear except for Sikhs). The photograph is to be taken with candidate holding a black slate in front of his chest with his name and date of photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters. Two copies of the same photograph should be retained by the candidate for submitting at the time of enrolment.

(c)           Consent certificate by Parents/ Legal guardian is required for the candidate below 18 years of age. Consent certificate is to be signed by candidate himself if he is above 18 years of age.

SEQUENCE OF EXAMINATION

Candidates whose applications are accepted will receive Admit Cards with details of the written test date, location, and time. Candidates must report at the specified time and follow the instructions on the Admit Card. At the examination centre, candidates must bring the required documents for verification.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR WRITTEN TEST:

  • Aadhar Card (or valid ID for candidates from J&K, Assam, and Meghalaya). 
  • Character certificate (signed by a Gazetted Officer/Panchayati Officer/Principal, not older than 6 months). 
  • Original 10th/Matriculation Passing Certificate for name, father’s name, and DOB verification. 
  • Original 10th/Matriculation Marks Sheet. 
  • Experience certificate, if applicable.

Note: Original documents will be returned after verification. Internet copies of mark sheets are not accepted

PHASE I (WRITTEN TEST): The test will be held at the location where the candidate applied. It will be common for both streams, with a minimum aggregate score required for selection.

Written Examination: 

  • Total Marks: 20 
  • General English (10th CBSE): 10 
  • General Knowledge (10th Standard): 10 
  • Pass Mark: 10 

 

Debarring Candidates: 

  1. Candidates will be permanently debarred from Agniveervayu Non-Combatant tests for: 
  2. Using unfair means (e.g., copying, carrying prohibited items, or impersonation). 
  3. Misbehaving with exam staff or carrying forged documents. 

Action for Unfair Means: 

  1. Candidates found using unfair means will be withdrawn from the test and their candidature cancelled.

 

PHASE II (PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST): 

  • Only candidates who pass the written test will be eligible for the Physical Fitness Test (PFT). 
  • The test may be conducted on the same day as the written exam or the following day, with candidates bearing their own expenses if needed.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT): 

  • Consent Certificate: Candidates must submit a signed certificate from their legal guardian before PFT. 
  • Height Check: Minimum height of 152 cm is required; candidates below this will be disqualified. 

PFT-1:                          

  • 1.6 Km runs to be completed in 6:30 minutes. Time adjustments for high altitudes: 
  • Up to 5000 feet: No change 
  • 5001 to 9000 feet: +30 seconds  
  • 9001 to 12000 feet: +120 seconds 

PFT-2: 

  • Candidates must complete: 
  • 10 Push-ups in 1 minute 
  • 10 Sit-ups in 1 minute 
  • 20 Squats in 1 minute 
  • Stream Suitability Test (SST): 
  • Must score 50% aggregate (15 marks) to qualify. Tasks include: 
  • Hospitality: Cooking, kitchen equipment handling, sanitation, food service, and hygiene. 
  • Housekeeping: Cleaning, gardening, washing, ironing, hair cutting, stitching, tailoring, etc. 

 

MEDICAL EXAMINATION:

  1. Qualified candidates from SST will undergo a medical exam as per IAF standards, including routine tests (e.g., Hemogram, ECG, Radiograph, and Biochemistry). 
  2. The final decision on fitness is by Armed Forces medical officers. No review allowed. 
  3. Candidates must bring prescriptions for corrective glasses, and prepare to stay for 4-5 days for medical tests. 

 

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Late arrivals for the written test will not be allowed. 
  2. No TA/DA provided. 
  3. Mobile phones and electronic gadgets are prohibited in the exam hall.
