Cut-off Analysis of Ten Previous NDA Exams

NDA & NA (National Defence Academy and Naval Academy) Exam is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission every year. NDA is considered to be one of the toughest exams in India. Intermediate Class Passed or appearing candidates can apply for NDA&NA Exam.  Every year Lakhs of students apply for NDA & NA Exam but only a few hundreds of students clear the final exam.

Three Types of Cut off in the NDA Exam

In the NDA Exam, there are three types of cutoff- 1. Sectional Cut Off, 2. Written Exam Cut Off and 3.NDA Final Cut off.

1. Sectional cut off- Sectional Cut off in NDA Exam is 25%. It means candidates must score at least 75 marks in maths paper and 225 Marks in the GAT (General Ability Test). If any candidate is scoring below these marks, his/her copies will not be checked by UPSC.
2. NDA Written Exam cut off- Other than sectional Cut Off, there is a written exam cut-off also. Candidates must score above this cut off otherwise they will not receive call letters of interview. NDA written exam cut-offs of the last 10 NDA Exams are given below.
3. NDA Final cut off- Candidates must score clear the NDA final cut-off to get a place for their name/roll no. in the NDA final result. We have provided a detailed analysis of 10 previous NDA Exams below.

Importance of previous NDA Exam Cut Off

Previous year cut off helps to get an idea what is going to be cut off in the upcoming exams. But This cut-off depends on the number of vacancies, the difficulty of the exam, and the number of students who applied for the NDA Exam. One thing that can be noticed from the above table is that the cut-off for NDA Exam is gradually increasing. Cut-off helps candidates set a target of marks that they will try to score in the exam. As per the above analysis, candidates must try to score above 370 marks in the written exam and above 740 in the final merit list.
