The central government has ended the free movement regime with Myanmar.

  • Union Home Ministry has taken decision to end the Free Movement Regime (FMR) along the Indo-Myanmar Border.
  • This decision to end FMR to maintain demographics along the border regions.
  • Under the Free Movement regime, Tribals living along the Indo-Myanmar Border can move within 16 km without the requirement of a visa and passport.

West Bengal government presents a 3.7-lakh crore Budget.

  • West Bengal government under Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee has tabled the State Budget of 3.7-lakh crore.

The growth rate is going to be 7% in the financial year 2024-25 as predicted by the RBI.

  • In the latest round of the monetary policy, India’s central bank Reserve Bank of India has predicted that the Growth Rate is going to be 7% in the financial year 2024-25.
  • RBI has also predicted that inflation will remain at 4.5% in the financial year 2024-25.
