Army Chief General Pandey begins tour of Uzbekistan…

Army Chief General Manoj Pandey on Monday left for Uzbekistan on a four-day visit to explore new avenues of bilateral military cooperation. General Pandey is scheduled to hold extensive talks with top military officials of the Central Asian nation besides visiting several defense establishments. The Defense Ministry described the Army Chief's visit to Uzbekistan as an "important step" towards strengthening defense cooperation between the two countries. The ministry said General Pandey will hold talks with Uzbekistan's Defense Minister Lieutenant General Bakhodir Kurbanov; Major General Khalmukhamedov Shukhrat Garatjanovich, First Deputy Defense Minister and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
